About Me and Birth of Rubans Colores

My craft passion started more than a decade ago...

When I was an undergrad, I realized craft work helped me zone out from all those academic stress.  Chinatown and Spotlight were my favorite places to shop around for inspirations, raw materials etc. Yes and even up till today, I still go there to support their business.

I learned the craft techniques through researching, reading the craft books, testing plus many trials and errors. I love creating and making my own earrings, bracelets, necklaces as it allows me to innovate different accessories designs. Every praises I received motivates me and pushes me to create even better and unqiue masterpieces.

Along my craft journeys, I have picked up more skills like making hair accessories and sewing ruffles pants, dress, circle skirts, quiet book and even masks for my family. Hair accessories were the first few creations that I started selling and that’s also where the company name derived from i.e. 🎀Rubans Colores translates to colourful ribbons in French.

I registered 🎀Rubans Colores as far back as around 2008 but unfortunately I had to put it on hold after a few years as I was juggling between my part time post grad studies, being 1st time being a mum and a full time employee. Now that both my kids are more manageable, I have decided to start working on my craft again.

Recently, I have also started making pet collar, pet bandana, pet bows for my dogs. Head down to TailsOfPet IG to see all my previous work. Other creation that fresh from the oven are the crochet stuff like crochet basket for organizing cosmetics and also crochet handbag. 

My dream is to have a shop of my own one day selling my handmade products. Most of the products are handmade and each piece are uniquely crafted. For most products, there is usually only 1 unique piece. I seldom do remake since I don't usually remember how do.😁 When inspiration struck me, I just execute immediately and don't jot down.
